Universal Orlando Celebrates the Holidays

You’ve got to give Universal Orlando credit for holding off until Dec. 7 to kick off its holiday celebrations. But it’s doing it up in a big way at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.

The Macy’s Holiday Parade, Universal-style, will take place at Universal Studios, featuring large-than-life balloons, holiday-inspired floats and characters, and a tree-light ceremony with Santa Claus.

For tiny tots, Barney and friends will team up for “A Barney Holiday,” a magical musical show taking place at A Day in the Park With Barney” at Universal Studios. Plus, the Blues Brother get into the holiday spirit with Jake and Elwood performing holiday favorites.

At Islands of Adventure, the live show “Grinchmas Wholiday Spectacular” will take place daily. A breakfast with the Grinch and the Whos will also take place.

On Dec. 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, and 22, Mannheim Steamroller, the holiday music staple, will perform the Electrifying Holiday Concert on the Music Plaza stage at Universal Studios.

In addition, Universal Studios will host a New Year’s Eve celebration at CityWalk. Titled EVE 2013, this new event features six entertainment zones, unlimited food and access to seven nightclubs at CityWalk. Who says you have to head to Times Square for a good time?

Here’s a clip from last year.
