Universal Orlando Announces Holiday Schedule

Admittedly, we were a tad hesitant to post a Christmas-related item even before Halloween treats have been given out. Or Penn & Teller and Alice Cooper had left their haunted houses at Halloween Horror Nights.

But according to Universal Orlando 2013: The Ultimate Guide to the Ultimate Theme Park Adventure, the heaviest tourism season is indeed Christmas and many of you Universal fans may be making plans now.

So here is the schedule, with thanks to Theme Park Ranger Dewayne Bevil, of the Orlando Sentinel, who says it includes all the familiar holiday programming, plus an expanded concert schedule for Mannheim Steamroller.

Mannheim Steamroller will perform at the Music Plaza at Universal Studios on Dec. 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, and 23.

The Macy’s Holiday Parade, featuring floats and balloons from the New York event, will run from Dec. 1 to Jan. 1 at Universal Studios.

There will be holiday versions of the Barney show and the Blues Brothers street concert.

At Islands of Adventure, Mannheim Steamroller will also be featured in the live “Grinchmas Wholiday Spectacular,” plus there will be a Seuss character breakfast and Grinch meet and greets.

Holiday programming ends Jan. 1 and is included with regular admission.
