Ebooks, Apps Vs. Print Guidebooks

Ebooks are probably here to stay, but the larger problem is the decrease in retailers, says the Intrepid Traveler Publisher Kelly Monaghan in an interview with Dewayne Bevil of the Orlando Sentinel.

As a result, there’s more of an emphasis on reaching the large Disney fan base.

The books published by the Intrepid Traveler are subsequently offered in either as ebooks or as apps, depending on which works better, and some such as the Hidden Mickeys book have both. Other titles, such as the Universal Orlando guidebook series by Monaghan and Seth Kubersky, have spin-off ebooks such as An Utterly Unauthorized Guide To Harry Potter at Universal Orlando.

Monaghan says it’s often a matter of personal preference, adding that losing an iPad is much more traumatic than losing a paperback book.
