with Discovery Cove’s tropical atmosphere, there’s a rainforest canopy hovering over crystal clear springs. Leaving their hiking boots behind, guest will explore the area by swimming, wading and floating. Featured will be unique waterways with various nooks and crannies to be explored and an in-water relaxation station for soaking up the sun and sipping a refreshing beverage.

Fresh Water Oasis will be included with admission to Discovery Cove. It’s scheduled for a spring opening.

TurtleTrek will also open in the spring. Inspiration for the attraction is the journey made by sea turtles as they hatch on the beach, dash to the ocean, face hazards ad they mature, then return to the same beach to lay

their own eggs. It’s all presented in a 3-D/360-degree film presented in a fully domed theater using 34 projectors and two films presented simultaneously. The sound system includes 22 audio channels that have been mixed on site; guests are surrounded in an underwater world.

Officials are calling it “high reality.” They stated that the six-minute film, due to ita size and complexity, would take nearly five years to download on an average computer.

Highlighting the journey of one turtle, the animated film brings 12 species of sea animals to life – all approved by SeaWorld’s educators and animal experts.

Details of Antarctica—Empire of the Penguins are closely guarded. Suffice to say the SeaWorld is saying that it is the “single biggest attraction expansion ever” and describing it as “the coldest theme part attraction in the world.” Its opening is planned for spring 2013.

As expected the focus of the attraction will be the penguins and experience Antarctic live through their eyes. It will combine “closer-than-ever animal connections with state-of-the-art interactive ride technologies for adventures that are different each time.”

The expansion is seen as the most extensive in SeaWorld’s 40-year history, comparable to the impact of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter on UniversalOrlando.
