Shifting Orlando Theater Scene

Apart and aside from the theme parks, Orlando has a vibrant, yet ever-changing theater scene.

Matthew Palm, Orlando Sentinel arts writer, reports on FantasyLand Theatrical Productions’ lost lease and the creation of a theater coop by several other theater companies, called the Rocking Horse Factory.

Palm quotes Christian St. John, Fantasyland artistic director, who said a new venue is being sought and that they will have an abbreviated season.

Coop participants include Renegade Theatre and Howler’s Theatre and it’s hoped other companies will join the collaboration. “One group already plans to use the Rocking Horse. In the Wings Productions, with producers Samuel Butcher and Holly Frost, will stage “The Graduate” in February,” reports Palm.
