SeaWorld Up Close

Two recent posts give a great pictorial update on what’s going on at SeaWorld.

Orlando Theme Park News took to the air via the Sky Tower and snapped photos of construction underway on SeaWorld’s new additions. Debris from the demolition of the former Penguin Plaza was evident; it will be replaced by the new Antarctica, Empire of the Penguins exhibit. Views show that the Puffin area is gone, while the old fountain remains. A gift shop, “Friends of the Wild,” will also come down.

Photos also show that work is progressing nicely on “Dine with Shamu.”

OTPN also posted photos of the Bands, Brew and BBQ site. However, the festivities have been well documented from ground level by Dewayne Bevil of Theme Park Rangers.

Along with “BBQ” (and turkey legs) and plenty of brew (12-sample package is $25), there are concerts with the likes of the Doobie Brothers and Scott McCreery during the next two weekends.

Photos were also posted of the future entrance to the new Turtle Trek and Antarctica exhibits.

Looks like a good time was had by all — in the air and on the ground.
