New Exhibit Gives Insight Into Universal Attractions

In the timeline of history, Universal Orlando’s presence is short. But given the ever-changing nature of theme parks, it has a history that’s worth looking at for aficionados.

“A Year in the Life: Backstage to Onstage at Universal Orlando Resort” will be presented at the Orlando County Regional History Center through Jan. 26, 2014. The exhibit gives visitors a look at the processes involved in bringing Universal’s annual events to life along with the creative background of the Universal Cinematic Spectacular – 100 Years of Movie Memories and the Universal Superstar Parade.

According to Dewayne Bevil of the Orlando Sentinel, there are about 150 photos covering from history of Universal. In addition he mentions early promotional material from Halloween Horror Nights (Fright Night), papier-mâché Mardi Gras heads, and an invitation to the opening of Islands of Adventure folded like a lighthouse.

The History Center is located at 65 East Central Blvd. Orlando. Admission to the exhibit is included with admission fee.
