NASCAR Cafe Goes To The Body Shop

NASCAR Cafe in CityWalk at Universal Orlando Resort is getting a new owner, a new name (NASCAR Sports Grille) and a complete retuning.

The revamped, 20,000 square foot restaurant will feature an outdoor “tailgate” section, with an open flame grill. Inside, each table will have an interactive video monitor allowing guests to choose segments about a favorite driver or a specific NASCAR event. They are also promising a “more sophisticated” menu — although I kinda like the one they’ve got now. No word on whether the prices will get “more sophisticated,” too.

Word is that the $5 million renovation will be done in stages so that one floor of the two-floor eatery will always be open. The project is slated to be complete in time for the Daytona 500 in February 2007.
