Love is in the Air at Legoland

If you’ve never had kids, you may find it far-fetched to understand the fascination with all those little blocks, not to mention the creation of a theme park dedicated to them.

However, the more we read about Legoland, the more we’re intrigued by the phenomenon … Especially the creation of nearly 100 Minilanders — 48 couples — who have found love in Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., Florida, New York City, and California. They’re just 4 inches tall and made of only 60 bricks. Like all couples, they come in all shapes and sizes.

In all, Miniland USA is home to 15,000 Minilanders. They live among the 1:20 scale models of landmarks created using 20 million LEGO bricks. Famous denizens include Elvis, Darth Vader, the cast from Jersey Shore (I wonder if Snooky is pre-weight loss), and actor Atticus Shaffers. Oh, and there’s the pigeon made from just six bricks; it’s Legoland’s smallest model.
