Hiring Under Way at Universal, Sea World

Check out Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld. Between the two of them, they’re looking to hire approximately 3,000 full-time, part-time and seasonal workers.

According to the Orlando Business Journal, the jobs at Orlando will cover all aspects of park operations, including attraction operations, food services,culinary and merchandise.

Don’t look to get rich, however, because the jobs pay between $7.75 and $10.75 per hours, depending on the position. The benefits do seem to be pretty good and free theme park tickets and discounts are included.

Universal Orlando has raised its starting wage from $6.75, paying out the highest starting rate of all Orlando-based theme parks. New employees, both full- and part-time will be eligible for benefits immediately, rather than waiting three months. Job fairs are planned and applications can be submitted online.

SeaWorld has posted a list of job openings and, according to WESH, has announced “hundred” of openings.

The unemployment rate in the Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford area stood at 10.4 percent in March 2011, compared with 12 percent in December 2010,reports the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
