Every Christmas Story Ever Told

I was worried when I heard that the cast of this year’s production of “Every Christmas Story Ever Told” at the Orlando Shakespeare Festival was different than last year’s. I needn’t have worried.

This is quite simply the funniest Christmas show you are likely to find anywhere. There is just one holdover from last year’s production, Tim Williams, who steps into the role of the curmudgeonly Dickens purist vacated by Eric Hissom (and does it very well, too). Newcomers Mark Lainer and Rob Maitner are equally good.

This is a show that relies heavily on topical references (there are many updates from last year) and ad libs and this cast is up to the challenge. One of the evening’s real treats is watching the performers crack each other up.

Trust me on this one. Just go. You’ll thank me. The show runs through December 24 at the Shakespeare Festival. Click that link for more info.
