Coming soon to Universal Orlando: Lowes Cabana Bay Beach Resort

The new hotel will offer 900 family-oriented suites with kitchen facilities and, in phase two, 900 standard guest rooms. It is geared toward the more modest pocketbook, so water taxi service and Express Pass privileges will not be offered as with the other Lowes resorts, according to Derek Burgan of He adds that guest may be able to take advantage of perks such as early park access, priority seating at restaurants, complimentary merchandise delivery, and character dining.

Plans were announced last summer and the Cabana Bay Beach Resort is expected to open in 2014.
