Bye-Bye Blue Man Group? Not So Fast

Orlando Parkhopper Eric Davis reported in Micechat recently that Universal Orlando was on the verge of axing the Blue Man Group and replacing it with a 30-minute version of Wicked.

Not so fast, he says now. His sources report that “the spectacular is here to stay for the foreseeable future. Still, there are indications that they are struggling with ticket sales.” Along with slow ticket sales, the attraction is also dealing with the loss of Sharp Electronics as the corporate sponsor. Eric says he found it easy to book tickets for a Friday during the holiday.

It appears that Wicked is still in the hopper, but it’s not replacing the Blue Man Group.

Check out his updates on construction of Transformers and Springfield (home of the Simpsons). Lots of photos there along with shots of various Christmas displays.
