Kennedy Space Center – Good Things To Know About...

Access for the Disabled. All of KSC Visitor Complex is wheelchair accessible. Free wheelchairs may be obtained at the Information counter in Information Central, the first building you enter after paying your admission. The IMAX films are equipped with devices for the hearing impaired.

Audio Tours. Audio tours of the Visitor Complex are available at the Information counter in Information Central. They are complimentary for guests with vision or hearing impairments. In addition to English, audio tours are available in Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Japanese. In fact, these tours seem to be most popular with non-English speakers.

Babies. Stroller rentals are free at KSC (at the Information counter in Information Central). Diaper changing tables are located in some restrooms, including the men's room at the Orbit Café.

First Aid. There is a well-equipped first-aid station with a nurse on duty from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is located near the bus boarding area.

Leaving the Park. Since the Kennedy Space Center is far from any population center, it is unlikely you will want to leave during your visit but if you decide to do so, just get your hand stamped at the exit and you will be able to reenter.

Money. You will find ATMs to the right of the Ticket Plaza, on the wall of the Space Shop across from the Astronaut Encounter, and at the Apollo/Saturn V Center. They are connected to all the major bank systems and credit cards.

Pets. Pets will be boarded free of charge during your visit. The pet kennel is to your right as you approach Information Central.

Security. Security is exceptionally tight. All visitors must pass through metal detectors and a battery of additional security personnel stands ready to conduct more detailed searches. Coolers and backpacks are banned and no lockers are available, so plan on leaving your excess stuff in the car and traveling light.
