Type: Extra-cost aerial adventure
Time: About 2 hours, including safety briefing
Short Take: Uniquely exhilarating but expensive
Always dreamed of dangling above the jaws of a cold-blooded killer with only a steel string between you and consumption? Gatorland's newest attraction takes you up a seven-story tower overlooking its crocodile habitats and alligator marsh. Then they make you step off a small platform and slide a total of 1,200 feet along a series of zip-line segments, each between 230 and 500 feet long. You'll be hitting speeds of up to 30 mph, so hold tight to the provided protective harness. The price: a princely $70; at least park admission is included.
Note: Advance reservations are required. No open-toed shoes allowed. Participants must be over 37 inches tall, under 275 pounds (they weigh you!), and sign a liability waiver (parents or guardians must sign for minors). Are we scared yet?
