This is Shingle Creek’s moderately priced, casual dining option. It is a light and airy space, open to the floor above with a great view out to the pool area. The Cafe takes its name from a Seminole chieftain who once controlled much of the surrounding area and many of the menu items reflect this theme. Hot fudge brownie sundaes become “Indian Peace Offerings,” for example.
There is one menu for breakfast and another for lunch and dinner. Each meal has its own buffet, with prices rising as the clock advances. Evening buffets have different themes (Caribbean, Asian, Italian, Southern BBQ, and seafood) throughout the week, with weekends reserved for prime rib. The buffets are bounteous and the quality above average. All-you-can-eat aficionados take note.
The a la carte lunch and dinner menu offers salads, sandwiches, and burgers. A short list of “specialties” includes heartier entrees ranging from pastas, to fish, to filet mignon, which at $25 is the most expensive item on the menu.
