Orlando's not a one-mouse town and this is the site that proves it!

Resort Hotels: The Marriott Connection - Moderate & Budget

These properties may not offer all the bells and whistles of the larger resorts, but they have some nice amenities and are easier on the pocketbook. They are, in very approximate order of cost:

Fairfield Inn on International Drive
7495 Canada Avenue
Orlando, FL 32819
(407) 351-7000 (407) 351-0052 fax

This is the most “hotel-like” of the Marriott properties. It is near the busy intersection of I-Drive and Sand Lake Road, with Orlando’s “Restaurant Row” a short drive to the west. Also close by are the Pirates Adventure dinner show, Magical Midway, a favorite teen hangout on I-Drive, and a bowling alley. A few king suites with separate sleep areas are available.

Price Range: $$

Amenities: Heated pool with whirlpool, breakfast buffet, 100% smoke free, free high-speed Internet access, fitness room, microwave and fridge in all rooms.

Distance to SeaWorld: 4.2 miles

Residence Inn, International Drive
7975 Canada Avenue
Orlando, FL 32819
(800) 380-6761 (407) 345-0117 (407) 352-2689 fax

Designed for the longer stay, this property features apartment-like units and looks much like a small condo development with the units scattered among separate two-story buildings. There are studios, double studios (with two queen beds), and a few “penthouses,” which feature a loft bedroom on an upper level. All of them have kitchen facilities complete with utensils. It is just a short way down the street from Fairfield Inn, so the notes about what’s nearby apply to this property as well.

Price Range: $$ - $$$

Amenities: Outdoor pool, small exercise room, plenty of guest laundries, full basketball court, fireplaces in some units, hot breakfast buffet, free high-speed Internet access.

Distance to SeaWorld: 4.0 miles

Courtyard, International Drive
8600 Austrian Court
Orlando, FL 32819
(407) 351-2244 (407) 351-3306 fax

The Courtyard formula is similar to Residence Inn, but is aimed at the shorter stay business traveler. The price points are also somewhat lower. This one is located in one of the many U-shaped streets off I-Drive. Other than a few restaurants, there are no attractions within comfortable walking distance. Because of its proximity to the Convention Center, it draws a considerable business trade.

Price Range: $ - $$

Amenities: Well-equipped business center, breakfast buffet, heated outdoor pool and whirlpool, lobby convenience store, free high-speed Internet access, fitness center, newspaper Monday through Friday.

Distance to SeaWorld: 3.4 miles

Residence Inn, SeaWorld
11000 Westwood Boulevard
Orlando, FL 32821
(800) 889-9728 (407) 313-3600 (407) 313-3611 fax

This is the closest of the moderate Marriotts to the parks, so it commands a premium price. Unlike the Residence Inn on Canada Avenue, described above, all the units here are in a single hotel-like building. You could conceivably walk to SeaWorld from here, but it’s a long walk.

Price Range: $$ - $$$

Amenities: Breakfast buffet, exercise room, large pool with zero-entry kids’ section, children’s playground, picnic tables with grills, basketball and volleyball, small convenience store, bar and grill, smoke-free policy, pets allowed with additional fee, free high-speed Internet access.

Distance to SeaWorld: 0.8 miles
