This smart take on a traditional diner evokes the Art Deco era in black and white with stainless steel accents. It occupies a long narrow space at the back of the lobby level. There are cozy grey upholstered booths, four-top tables, and a lunch counter to choose from.
The place is open 24 hours a day with the menu changing with the advancing clock. Breakfast is served from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and dinner from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. At 11:00, a limited late night menu, featuring burgers, sandwiches, and breakfast fare kicks in until 6:00.
While the decor says diner, the cuisine says something more, with the daily lunch and dinner specials offering some very good eating for the price. The lunch menu features primarily salads, burgers, and sandwiches, while the dinner menu adds more substantial entrees like roasted lemon-thyme chicken and a New York Strip Steak.
Some items, such as the Florida Shrimp Rosa, Portabella Carbonara, and chicken pot pie are available at both lunch and dinner. Desserts are mammoth and are displayed near the entrance to tempt you. As for the breakfasts, the corned beef hash comes highly recommended. A Sunday brunch is offered from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The B-Line Express, a walk up window near the entrance, is open from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and offers refugees from the hotel’s nearby convention and meeting area a chance to grab a quick bite to take away. Signs framing this window offer an abbreviated selection of fast food, but you can order anything that’s on the regular menu, including the daily specials.
