SeaWorld offers a number of “Behind the Scenes” guided tours, as well as animal interactions, and educational activities. The guided tours carry a nominal additional charge, over and above your admission price. The other activities range from moderately pricey to downright expensive but offer some opportunities to interact with or learn about the animals here that you’d be hard-pressed to find elsewhere.
If you have the time and interest, these one-hour tours can be fascinating. The guides are members of the education staff and are all extremely knowledgeable, personable hosts. At this writing three guided tours are offered on a regular basis. The cost varies seasonally. Adults tickets are $10, $13, or $16 and tickets for kids 3 to 9 are $8, $10, or $12. Annual passholders get a modest discount. The schedules are somewhat erratic depending on the number of people expected to visit the park that day and other factors.
Since all tours limit the number of participants, signing up early is advisable. To enquire about schedules and availability, head for the tour desk when you arrive. You’ll find it almost directly ahead as you pass through the entrance turnstiles. When you purchase your tours, you will be given a ticket with the name and time of your tour. This serves as your “ticket” and lets the guide know who belongs to the tour and who doesn’t. Tours begin at different points in the park. The meeting points are marked with signs. You will be given directions to them when you sign up.
