For those short on time and long on cash, SeaWorld offers a guided six-hour VIP touring option that guarantees you will hit the highlights and be treated like a celebrity along the way. You’ll get to feed stingrays, dolphins, and sea lions and pet a Magellanic penguin. You will also be given reserved seats at the Shamu show, which means very good seats indeed. Similar preferred seating is offered at either the sea lion or dolphin show, depending on scheduling on the day of your visit. Guests on the Adventure Express who meet the minimum height requirements (see ride reviews, below) also get one-time front of the line privileges at the big thrill rides, Kraken, Journey to Atlantis, and Wild Arctic.
None of this comes cheap. The cost is $89 for adults and $79 for children 3 to 9 (younger children tour free) — and that’s in addition to the regular price of admission! At least tax and lunch with a choice of sandwich, salad, dessert, and soft drink are included in these prices.
There are only 16 spaces available for the Adventure Express, so you may want to reserve a spot by calling (800) 327-2244. Tours leave at varying times in the late morning; there may just be one tour a day during slower periods and as many as four or five during the busier tourist seasons.
If that’s not exclusive enough, you can opt for a private version of Adventure Express, dubbed Elite Adventure Express. This private tour offers the same privileges, but is limited exclusively to your party. The tab is $1,100 including tax and lunch for up to 12 guests, plus the regular one-day admission. Book at least two weeks ahead for the Elite Express at (866) 781-1333.
