The eateries in Seuss Landing give new meaning to the term “fun food.” The exteriors and interiors are every bit as ingeniously designed as the rides, with the same loopy, drooping, and dizzy details. Dining here is strictly casual, with brightly colored plastic utensils.
Green Eggs and
Ham Cafe
What:
Yummy fast-food fare
Where: On your left as you enter from Port of Entry
Price Range: $
The exterior of this walk-up fast food stand is shaped like a giant green ham with an enormous fork stuck into it. A partially cut slice droops over to form a canopy for the two food service windows. It’s a brilliant sight gag of a building.
The signature dish of this establishment — and a real winner — is the Green Eggs and Hamwich: scrambled fried eggs, thin slices of ham, and melted cheese served on a warm bun with fries on the side. It makes for a yummy, if rather salty, meal. The eggs, it must be reported, are not all that green; a touch of pureed parsley has been added to give them a slight greenish tinge. The Green Eggs and Hamwich is just one of four Sam I Am Platters ($6 to $8). The others are hamburger, cheeseburger, and chicken tenders and fries.
Note: Unfortunately, this stand is not always open.
