Boggy Creek Airboats operates half hour tours on 18-passenger boats that explore the shores of their respective lakes. The eastern location also covers the nooks and crannies of Boggy Creek, one of the few habitats of the endangered snail kite. On the wildlife menu for both are alligators, turtles, and a multitude of water fowl. “Private” 45-minute tours on 6-passenger boats are $45 per person. On warm summer nights, both run hour-long alligator tours by reservation only. The tab is $35 for adults and $30 for kids.
You’ll find the Big Bass Road location at East Lake Fish Camp, a lovely camping and fishing resort. Several fishing guides operate from this base. You might want to consider spending a day (and perhaps a night) here.
The Southport Road location also offers an off-road Wildlife Safari Tour described a little later in this chapter.
